GMC-21 and GMC-21HF

Gilsonite Modified Cutback (GMC) is custom blended material consisting of Asphalt, Gilsonite, some proprietary modifiers and a rapid cure solvent carrier.

Gilsonite Modified Cutback (GMC) is custom blended material consisting of Asphalt,
Gilsonite, some proprietary modifiers and a rapid cure solvent carrier. Chemrin uses a
unique patented process to incorporate the Gilsonite into the asphalt with a choice of
two rapid curing solvent carriers, one of which has a higher flash point for increased
safety.
GMC-21 and GMC-21HF are both spray applied asphalt penetrating sealers and
binders.
Used on new and aged asphalt pavements. GMC products provide a tough, hard
wearing surface layer which protects the underlying pavement structure from oxidization
due to weathering and prevents moisture intrusion by providing a tough surface layer
which becomes a sacrificial layer to protect the pavement structure.
GPM binders are solvent based for faster drying times and minimal disruption to traffic.
Since this range of Gilsonite modifiers are cutback versions and contain no water, there
is no danger of freezing during storage or on application.

GMC materials can be applied at low temperatures and are suitable for both daytime
and nighttime projects.
It is recommended that Pavements to be treated should have good skid resistance
numbers before application, but a Chemrin approved aggregate could be applied after
GMC application to assist with the skid resistance numbers.
GMC materials can be used to extend the life of any asphalt pavement including
driveways, automotive test facilities, commercial properties (parking lots), city streets,
county roads, Interstate highways and airport taxi ways and runways.
